Marta Sylla
Marta Sylla is a postdoctoral researcher advancing Gross Ecosystem Product concept using ecosystem services modelling and valuation approaches and ecosystem accounting framework. Her role is part of a collaborative program between the Stockholm Resilience Centre at Stockholm University and the Natural Capital Alliance at Stanford University, supported by funding from the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation.
Before joining the NatCap project at Stockholm Resilience Centre as a postdoctoral researcher, she was a visiting postdoc at the NatCap TEEMs Center at the University of Minnesota, USA, where she focused on global valuation and modelling of agriculture-related ecosystem services. She has contributed to European Horizon projects and successfully secured her own grant for early-career researchers, focusing on ecosystem accounting. Additionally, she has been a visiting researcher at the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, where she worked on the same topic.
Sylla completed her PhD at Wroclaw University of Environmental and Life Siences in Poland, where she also gained vast teaching experience. She has been involved in food-related research and contributed to the development of an innovative community-supported agriculture initative.
